Studies indicate that slightly over half of all cases of infertility are as a result of female conditions, while the rest are caused by either sperm disorders or unidentified factors. So what are general factors to consider for infertility issues??

Age  A woman fertility starts to drop at around 32 years old and continues doing so. In case of a male, decline is seen after 40 years of age.

Smoking– Smoking significantly increases the risk of infertility in both men and women. And importantly, smoking may also undermine the effects of fertility treatment. Even when a woman gets pregnant, if she actively smokes, she has a much higher risk of miscarriage.

Alcohol consumption – A woman’s pregnancy can be seriously affected by any amount of alcohol consumption. Alcohol abuse may lower male fertility.

Being obese or overweight– It has been observed that infertility is more common in overweight couples.
